November 2019 Newsletter

Happy November! Here is some information and events to mark on your calendars as well as ways to help support the PTO throughout the year!

WE NEED DONATIONS! The Holiday Bazaar will be held on December 12th and 13th. We are seeking donations of new/gently used items. If you have suitable gift items (coffee mugs, candles, DVD’s, jewelry, purses, games, books, puzzles, toys, knick knacks, ties, men’s items, etc.) please place in a box labeled Holiday Bazaar and leave it by the PTO bulletin board (near school elevator). Please do not donate large items that are too big to fit in a child's backpack.

We are always in need of items for men (ties, sports memorabilia, tools, etc.).

*We are also in need of Volunteers to help sort.*

If you have any questions, or to volunteer to help, please contact

  • Hannaford Helps – Purchase qualifying items from September 2 – December 1 and CES will earn money. You must turn the school dollars in to the Helps Schools Collection Tower at the front of the store (East Greenbush) and insert it into the CES School Slot to get credit.

  • Box Tops for Education – We receive 10 cents for each Box Top that is turned in. You can find Box Tops on various products. Please download the Box Top App and scan your grocery receipts to easily submit your Box Tops. Physical Box Tops are still on many products and can be clipped and sent into school in a Ziploc bag (label bag with grade and teacher name).

  • Colonie Center Points – Every time you shop at Colonie Center, you can help CES earn points. At the end of the school year, Colonie Center will give away $20,000 in cash to the top 10 schools!! Bring any receipt for any purchase at Colonie Center (including restaurants, movies, travel agency, etc.) to the Customer Service desk (1st floor by Five Guys). They will record the amount of the purchase ($1 = 1 pt).

  • Price Chopper Tools for Schools – Register your Price Chopper Advantage Card (https://www.pricechopper.com/tools-schools) to help our school earn points! School Code is 15721.

  • School Banking – Students can deposit money during School Banking monthly throughout the school year. The school receives $10 for each new account. To set up a bank account through CAPCOM and for more information go here, https://www.capcomfcu.org/personal/banking/kids/.
