When the little wizards
arrive, they will be sorted upon check in.
I have name tags in 4 different colors.
Each color will represent a house.
They will draw pick a sticker, and then the sorting hat will put them in
the house that matches the sticker color.
There will be materials for
wand making – wooden dowels and pipe cleaners to wrap around it for
decoration. Each wizard should make a
wand. There will also be Twizzler wands,
if anyone prefers. During check in,
sorting and wand making, there will also be snacks served. Once all that is accomplished, we will move
onto the activities.
Someone needs saving. One of
Hagrid’s creatures is dying. We need to
make the Potion of Life to save him.
Hagrid knows it has 6 ingredients: insects, dragon scales, poppies, phoenix feathers, frogs and eyeballs. They need to be combined together 2 at a time, but he can’t remember
which ones go together. We will need to
try to figure out how they go together using trial and error, but first you
will need to complete a series of tasks in order to obtain the
ingredients. Then, once the ingredients
are obtained, combine two of them together to try for a portion of the Potion
of Life. But be warned, some
combinations may have unintended consequences.
